Cloud Gaming
Xsolla Cloud Gaming enables game developers to host games in cloud servers and provide streaming access to users via web. The game developer can choose a single or multiple servers with the required specification across available regions.
This solution utilizes a pay-as-you-go monetization model involving payment for actual minutes of gameplay. To pay for playtime, users purchase blue orbs, which are virtual currency, and spend them on cloud streaming sessions.
Integration flow
To integrate the Cloud Gaming solution:
- Configure the prerequisites:
- Set up a cloud game project and upload your game build.
- Set up a preferred game distribution method.
User flow
- The user finds the game on your storefront or a Xsolla game platform, such as Long Tale Games.
- The user opens the game page in a browser.
- The user logs in to the site via the provided method.
- The user clicks the button to play the cloud game.
- If the game has a free trial enabled, the user can play for a limited time for free. Once the trial expires, or if no trial is configured, the user is prompted to top up their blue orbs balance.
- Once the payment is completed, the user can launch the cloud streaming session.
- As the streaming session continues, blue orbs are deducted from user balance in real time based on playtime.
