How to connect to your Database
Advanced Analytics enables you to connect to various databases and use them as data sources.
To create an integration with your database, head over to the Data sources page and click the +Data source button at the top of the page. Select Create New Integration from the submenu:
Another way to do that is to head over the Integrations page and then press the +App or database button at the top:
After that, you should choose the desired database and fill in the following gaps in the integration setting window. The window consists of three tabs: General, Security, and Data Refresh.
In the General tab, you should enter your connection details such as:
- Database name
In the Security tab, you can set your security preferences.
In order to protect your data and ensure that all data remains private and integral, we recommend selecting the Use SSL option (if it’s supported by your DB server).
Advanced Analytics connects to your database in a read-only mode. This provides an additional layer of security against malicious queries. Nevertheless, we recommend using a read-only user for connecting to your database. Create a new read-only user, if you haven’t yet, and grant the user privileges. Please refer to your DB documentation to learn how to create a read-only user.
In the Data Refresh tab, you can set the frequency of automated updates of your data. Select the desired update rate, update time, and time zone of cache flushing.
When ready, click the Check Connection button. If the connection is successful, you will see the corresponding message:
Next, press the Create button in the bottom right corner. Created integration will appear in the Integrations menu. After the integration is added, you can start building data sources based on it. To know more about creating data sources, please follow the link.
