How to set up notification chains

How it works

If you want to reduce the user churn rate, you can use a custom automation system. Use it to configure various actions that automatically occur when certain events happen. So, it can motivate the user to repeat a purchase or return to the game.

Note
Currently, the system allows sending only an email notification when the user cancels a subscription.

Main features:

  • sending notifications related to user actions
  • setting up single notifications or a chain of notifications
  • using preset actions
  • providing the user with a trial period or discount as a bonus when purchasing a subscription
  • setting an expiration date for the bonus sent with a notification

How to get it

  1. Open your project in Publisher Account.
  2. Go to Subscriptions > Custom automation.

  1. Add actions in one of the following ways:
  2. Set up the expiration date of the bonus offer (optional).
  3. Activate the chain of actions for the event.

Create actions with preset

Preset actions are a preconfigured chain of actions that are added automatically. You can use actions directly or edit them.

To set up preset actions:

  1. In the Event block, select Use preset actions.

  1. Edit actions (optional). To do this:
    1. Go to primary settings and select Edit action.

    1. Edit Action time, Title, Custom text, Button text fields.

Note
The Action time field specifies the number of full days that must elapse after the event before the notification is sent.

    1. Select the type of bonus:
      • no bonuses (default)
      • discount
      • trial period
    2. Enter the discount percentage or the number of days for the trial period.
    3. Click Save changes.

Creating your own actions

To create your own action:

  1. In the Event block, go to primary settings and select Add new action.

  1. Fill in the Action time, Title, Custom text, Button text fields.

Note
The Action time field specifies the number of full days that must elapse after the event before the notification is sent.

  1. Select the type of bonus:
    • no bonuses (default)
    • discount
    • trial period
  2. Enter the discount percentage or the number of days for the trial period.
  3. Click Create.

  1. In the action activation modal window, select:
    • Yes, activate to activate the action immediately.
    • Close to activate the action later. The action will be saved with the Off status.

Set up the expiration date of the bonus offer

If you would like to set a time limit on the availability of the bonus in the last notification, set the expiration date of the bonus offer. To do this:

  1. In the Event block, go to primary settings and select Set expiration date.

  1. Set the Enable deactivation of the last email toggle to On.
  2. Specify the validity period of the bonus offer in days after the notification is delivered to the user.
  3. Click Save changes.

Note
The bonus availability is determined by the following logic:
  • In the notification chain, the bonus is available until the next notification is sent.
  • If no expiration date is specified, the bonus from the last notification of the chain will remain available to the user forever.

Activation of the actions chain for an event

To activate the created chain of actions, in the Event block go to primary settings and select Activate. You can disable the entire chain of actions for a specific event. To do this, go to primary settings and select Disable.
