Ecosystem score

The ecosystem score shows how fully your mobile game uses the Xsolla Web Shop feature set, weighted toward the features most strongly linked to a higher capture rate. Capture rate is the share of your game’s revenue that flows through your own direct-to-consumer (D2C) channel instead of the app stores.

Use the score to compare your game to similar games and which features to add next to grow your D2C revenue.

To open it, click Ecosystem dashboard in the side menu.

Note
The ecosystem score is available if you completed Web Shop integration.

Your dashboard shows a headline score together with a triangle chart of your three category scores, compared to the top 10% of peer studios in your genre. Click Boost score to see the full breakdown and recommended next steps.

How ecosystem score is calculated

The ecosystem score is made up of three category scores, shown as the three vertices of the triangle. Each category is scored on a 1–5 scale. Your overall ecosystem score is the average of the three category scores.

CategoryWhat it covers
MonetizationStore and payment features: virtual items, subscriptions, cart, offerwall, SDK, local prices, and Xsolla Bot in Discord.
EngagementRetention and purchase-shaping mechanics: purchase limits, limited-time offers, free items, reward system, daily rewards, loyalty program, referral program, and social quests.
OperationsCampaign tooling: discounts, personalization, promotions, bonuses, promo codes, offer chains, first-purchase offer, upsell, and Mobile Measurement Partner (MMP) integrations

How category score is calculated

For each category, we add up the contribution of every feature you have active. Features contribute differently to the score:

  • Widely adopted foundational features (like virtual items) contribute less, since most successful studios already have them.
  • Features that show a strong, statistically reliable connection to a higher capture rate contribute more — even if adoption is still low. This approach highlights less common but high-value features as recommended next steps.

For genres with enough data — RPG, simulation, action, and strategy — feature contributions are calculated specifically for that genre, so your score reflects what actually drives D2C revenue for games like yours. Other genres use the broader dataset across all mobile games.

A studio with every feature in a category reaches the top score for that category; a studio with a partial set earns a score proportional to the value of the features it has.

Read your score

Click Boost score (or a category icon on the triangle) to open the full breakdown:

The expanded view reads top to bottom:

  • The triangle repeats your three category scores, with Monetization, Engagement, and Operations labeled on the axes, and a You and Peers legend so you can see exactly where you fall behind. Click How it works, right under the score, for a short explainer.
  • Ecosystem score and Capture rate bars show how far you are from the top 10% of peer studios in your genre. Both are benchmarked against studios with the same genre, Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) band, and company size, and recalculated daily.
  • Next steps ranked by impact lists the specific features to add next, ordered by how much each would add to your score (e.g. +0.2 score).

Grow your score

The Next steps ranked by impact list shows the features you haven’t added yet, ordered by how much each one would add to your score. Click the button on any card to go straight to that feature’s setup flow.

For the full picture, select View all to open the improvements board, grouped into Boost operations, Boost engagement, and Boost monetization — each with its own completion percentage:

Note
Adding a small number of high-impact features can increase your ecosystem score more than implementing several lower-impact features.
