Attribution types

Campaign attribution lets Partner Network assign transactions to the relevant creators and correctly calculate payouts for their participation in campaigns. The following attribution types are available in Partner Network campaigns:

Each attribution type suits different tasks, so choose the type based on how the creator promotes the game. You can combine attribution types, for example, a creator storefront with a promo code or a tracking link with a promo code.

Creator storefront

A creator storefront is a personal website with game items that Partner Network provides to a creator for participating in a campaign. Users open the storefront via the creator’s link and make purchases there. The storefront is linked to the creator, so all transactions in the storefront are attributed to that creator.

Promo code

A promo code is a unique code that a user enters at checkout to get a discount on a purchase. All transactions with a promo code are attributed to the creator the promo code is assigned to.

A tracking link is a unique link to the game website that a creator uses to distribute the game. When a user follows the link, the proxy saves the tracking link to the browser local storage. At checkout, Pay Station gets the tracking link from the local storage and links the transaction to it.

Attribution setup depends on the website where the user makes a purchase:

For details, see the Set up payment attribution page.

Note
All transactions made via a tracking link are attributed to the creator. The exception is when the user clears the browser local storage before the purchase. In this case, you receive the full payment for the purchase, but the creator does not get their revenue share.
Note
If a user makes a purchase without a promo code, outside a creator storefront, and not via a tracking link, the transaction is not attributed to a creator.
