How to customize emails to users

How it works

You can customize the appearance and content of emails sent to users after successful purchase and payment refund. A user receives an email in a language that is identified when the payment UI openes. By default, the standard email template is used:

Notice
If you have already configured customization of emails with receipts, these settings will be discarded when you switch to a new version of the email editor. You will see a notice about it in the Publisher Account’s interface.
You can customize emails in Publisher Account:
  • change the email layout by adding or removing necessary elements
  • add links to social networks
  • apply custom themes created for the payment UI

How to set it up

Basic setup

  1. In your Publisher Account, go to the Pay Station > Settings section.
  2. Click Open editor.
  1. From the drop-down list, choose the email language.
  2. On the Layout tab, you can configure the necessary email elements. To add these elements to the email layout, set the corresponding toggles to the on position. Text blocks available for editing are highlighted with a dotted frame when you hover over them in the preview area. Available elements:
    • Divider of email sections.
    • Leaders — dotted lines that connect receipt items and corresponding values.
    • Background image. Refer to the subsection below for detailed information about uploaded images.
    • Email header image. Refer to the subsection below for detailed information about uploaded images.
    • User greetings. To change the greetings text, click the respective email element in the preview area. You can also add the ${userName} variable to display a user name passed in the user.name.value parameter of the token request. If this parameter is not passed, the value of the user.id.value parameter will be displayed in the email instead.

    • Game title to display in transaction details.
    • Title of the section with purchased items.
    • Promotions section. You can add an image, text, and link to additional offers to encourage users to make new purchases. Refer to the subsection below for detailed information about uploaded images.

    • Additional legal terms and contacts of the game’s customer support in the email footer. To add text and useful links, click the relevant email element in the preview area.
    • Game logo in the email footer. Refer to the subsection below for detailed information about uploaded images.
    • Links to social networks in the email footer. To add links to social networks, set the respective toggles to the on position and add relevant URLs of your accounts.
      Note
      • Social networks settings apply to emails in all available languages.
      • If you don’t provide your profile URL, the main page of the social network will open when users click its icon.
  3. On the Style tab, you can choose a payment UI theme from the drop-down list: a default theme (dark or light) or a custom one. You can adjust its main colors to match the email theme. A custom theme should be created in advance.
  1. To see how the theme looks like in emails for successful purchases and payment refunds, switch between the Purchase and Refund tabs.
  2. Click Publish and confirm your action.
After publishing, users will start receiving customized emails.
Notice
After publishing, you cannot go back to using the standard email template.

Content localization

An English email template opens in the customization tool by default. Text changes in the following elements only apply to emails in this language:

  • user greetings
  • game title in transaction details
  • promotions section
  • additional legal terms in the email footer

To update texts in other languages, select a language in the drop-down list and make necessary changes.

Notice
If you don’‎t add localized versions of the customized texts, they will appear in English regardless of the payment UI language.

Information about uploaded images

When you change an image, the change applies to emails in all available languages. If an image contains text, it won’‎t be localized.

Recommendations on optimal image sizes:

Image typeSize
Background image.Stretches in height and aligns in width. The image size also depends on the overall email length. For example, if the promotions section is added, the email is longer. Depending on your design concept, you can choose an image that fills the email background either fully or partially.
Email header image.
  • 600 x 220 px minimum.
  • Stretches in width and aligns vertically in the center.
Logo in the email footer.80 x 80 px.
Image in the promotions section.460 x 170 px.
